squee!

^ That is the noise made by me whenever I see Oliver Jeffers' art. Pure love. His children's books are gorgeous and fun to read. One of them (Lost and Found) got made into a brilliant short animated film, narrated by Jim Broadbent, which I blogged about a while ago. Go watch it - after looking at his picture books, of course :)

His tales are about, variously:

- a bear wanting to win a paper airplane competition
- a boy who gets smarter by eating books
- a mysterious lost penguin pestering a boy

...and more <3

Still very faithful, I think. You can buy the DVD now! Well worth it. Would it be shameful to admit I shed a tear in the film? Yeah? Okay then, I didn't.
