rolling through the bay

Scott Weaver's Rolling through the Bay from The Tinkering Studio

Scott Weaver keeps busy! This man has spent the past 35 years and over 100,000 toothpicks creating this incredible kinetic sculpture. And he's not finished yet... Entitled Rolling Through The Bay, it portrays San Francisco and includes its neighbourhoods, historic locations and iconic symbols; Weaver has created several "tours" of the city that ping pong balls can take depending on where the user drops them in. Even though there exist a few toothpick sculptures larger than his, Weaver's is the only functional kinetic sculpture. I love all of the personal touches and his attention to the city's detail, you can really feel the love Weaver has for San Francisco.
